I like driving in my car ... ça commence tôt

Mes lecteurs assidus auront remarqué que ces derniers temps j'ai pris le vilain habitude d'écrire des choses qui n'ont aucun rapport avec la photo. A force vous vous êtes habitués, mais je conçois que ça peut être déconcertant.

Mais puisque je viens d'envoyer notre lettre de nouvelles à une flopée de gens, je m'attends à une vague de néophytes qu'il ne faut surtout pas effrayer. (Si vous ne l'avez pas encore reçu, vous inquiétez pas, j'y suis qu'à moitié, par ordre alphabétique des prénoms... désolé pour Yves).

Donc, voilà une photo de notre fille, prise la semaine dernière à la salle de jeu (soft play in english). Pour être tout à fait honnête, elle est rentré dedans juste une fois, et ensuite est resté à côté juste le temps qu'il fallait pour que je prenne la photo.

C'est quand même fou qu'à 13 mois, elle sait déjà que pour l'appareil photo il faut pas bouger, regarder l'objectif et même parfois sourire. Je ne suis même pas sûr qu'elle ait fait le lien entre l'appareil et les photos qu'on lui montre à l'écran, m'enfin, c'est quand même incroyable.

My more observant readers will have noticed that I've got into the bad habit of writing posts that have nothing whatsoever to do with the accompanying photo. I suppose that with time you may have got used to it, but I guess it can be slightly off-putting to start with.

But given that I've just sent out our newsletter to quite a few people, I'm expecting a minor influx of newbies who I don't want to scare off. (If you haven't received it yet, don't worry, I'm only half way through my list, ordered alphabetically by first name.)

So, here is a photo of our daughter at a 'soft play' in Watford last weekend. She didn't actually play that long in the car, but did hang around long enough for me to take the photo.

It's pretty amazing that at just 13 months old, she has already understood that in front of the camera, one stays still, looks in the right direction, and even smiles. I don't think she's understood the link between the camera and the photos we show her on the computer screen, but it's pretty amazing all the same.
