Poneys d'Aurel

When we were at the Ferme aux enfants, a lady there gave us an advert for 'Les Poneys d'Aurel'. A few days later we went, and the girls got to do everything.

Aller chercher les poneys.
... from going to get the ponies from the field.

Les brosser.
brushing them...

.. and going for a ride, with a little dip in the middle.

The Musee 1900 was a bit out of the way compared to our usual jaunts, and wasn't top of the girls' list, but I thought it would be interesting, and it was, though we whistled through it rather fast than our usual pace (i.e. we weren't the last to leave!).

A penny-farthing. First you have to explain about pennies and farthings.

Vous savez ce qu'est un bourrelier? Moi non plus.
Do you know what a Bourrelier is? I didn't. And I don't in English either. It's someone who makes things out of leather, including reins, saddles etc..

C'est une machine à laver.
Any guesses? It's a washing machine.

(Still catching up with holiday photos here!)

Another 'attraction' we tried for the first time was the Village des Enfants, which had evidently seen better days. It was a bit naff to be honest.

But the girls made the best of what there was, including this climbing frame.

Voilà les "jeux d'eau".
This was what was advertised as 'water games'.

Traditionnelle photo prise au retour.
We often take a photo at this spot.

The girls wanted to try a bit of photo fun.

(And yes, Rebecca was wearing pyjamas all day, that's holidays for you!)

Hymn to Freedom

Not just a song.

I'd say there's a tear around 5.30, and shortly after you can see he's mouthing the words:

When every heart joins every heart and together yearns for liberty,
That's when we'll be free.
When every hand joins every hand and together moulds our destiny,
That's when we'll be free.
Any hour any day, the time soon will come when men will live in dignity,
That's when we'll be free.
When every man joins in our song and together singing harmony,
That's when we'll be free.

Neither do I condemn

Trop difficile à traduire correctement, désolé!
"This is the world we’re in. Furthermore, this is the world God is in. If he is not with sinners, he is not with anyone. And if we just sit back and hurl condemnation on people for doing what comes naturally in a world like this, and don’t build deep relationships, offering them forbearance, kindness, and hospitality — as Jesus did — who will show them life as it could be in a new creation?"

You know me well enough now, you don't need me to tell you where that comes from...

Gngngng

I know next to nothing about negotiation, but I do know that you don't talk down your own side's chances before you've even started:
But Mr Fox was criticised by former deputy PM, now Lib Dem EU spokesman Nick Clegg. He said: "Liam Fox is delusional about the impact of Brexit on British trade with the rest of the world. Unbelievably, he claims to be 'taking an axe to red tape across borders'.

"The truth is that leaving the EU's customs union and single market will bring a deluge of new Brexit red tape down on the heads of British businesses who export to the continent."
Dear Mr Clegg, please pen your eyes, this is bigger than party politics, this is about your country.

You also avoid letting your adversary know what your bottom line is, so this:
ex-chancellor Ken Clarke, told the New Statesman Mrs May was running a "government with no policies" which has no idea how to carry out Britain's exit from the European Union
is equally dippy.
