False positives ... faux positifs

On the phone yesterday, someone asked "Didn't you get my mail?"

I didn't, which got me thinking - I went and had a look in the spam folder of gmail (haven't been there in ages, reliability having breeded complacency), and found about 20 'false positives' - i.e. valid mails which I should have received. And that's just in the last 30 days (older spam gets zapped automatically).

So a) if you've sent me a mail and got no reply, it might be worth sending again.
b) if you have a gmail adress, it's worth going and checking your spam too

As far as I can tell, they must have changed the rules recently, because I didn't have that kind of problem before.
