New Year's ... Réveillon

Avec 6 autres amis, on a organisé une fête du réveillon à la Passerelle. C'était un franc succès, avec 124 inscrits !

Le thème était les JO - on était étonné par le nombre de personnes qui ont 'joué le jeu' pour les déguisements - on a même eu une équipe de foot en entier!

Pour l'occasion, j'ai exercé mes talents de MacGyver - fabriquer une flamme olympique en une heure avec une lampe de chevet, du fil de fer, du papier de soie et du scotch ! De loin, et du bon côté, ça a l'air pas mal!

C'est aussi moi qui a fait la découpe de la colombe - il y a bientôt un an, c'est temps que je mette autre choses à sa place, mais je n'ai pas encore trouvé de croix sympa et sans trous.

Dernière photo, on a eu un prof d'école de danse qui a entrainé tout le monde dans quelques pas de 'Line Dance'. Kalia s'est mise avec, toute seule comme une grande (nous étions en train de faire la vaisselle à la cuisine). C'était trop beau de la voir essayer de suivre les instructions avec le plus grand sérieux, et aussi de voir comment tous les grands autour se sont donné de la peine pour suivre les instructions et éviter d'écraser notre pitchounne. A sa droite on voit deux de nos co-équipiers, Marcel et Magda.

C'était super, mais c'était aussi beaucoup de boulot. Je me suis sauvé à minuit et demi pour coucher Kalia, mais les autres ont rangé jusqu'à pas d'heure...

With 6 others friends from the church, we organised a New Year's do at La Passerelle. It sold out with 124 people signed-up!

The theme was the Olympics, we were very impressed by the number of people who did actually turn up in 'fancy dress' - including a whole football team (two families)!

I had a chance to try my craft skills - knocking together an olympic flame in one hour with: bedside lamp, gardening wire, crepe paper, sellotape. From a long way, from the right side, and in the dark, it doesn't look too bad!

It was me who did the dove too, but that was nearly a year ago now. I really need to get a cross up there, but haven't found a pretty cross (with no holes in).

The last photo shows Kalia joining in with the Line Dancing lesson. In all seriousness, and completely on her own initiative (we were in the kitchen doing the washing up). It was really sweet to see her trying her best to follow the instructions, and also to see all the grown-ups around her trying to follow the instructions whilst also avoiding treading on her! To her right you can see two of our co-workers, Marcel & Magda.

It was great fun, but also a lot of work. I sloped off at half past midnight to put Kalia (and myself) to bed, but the others were up to till the wee hours clearing up.
