Soon and very soon ...

Good chat with the doctor-man. He just wanted to make sure that it was a considered choice and that it wouldn't make for regrets in the future.

Madame was able to explain her fear of not coping with being induced, and her intuition that it would end with a cesarian anyway. She also recounted her sisters' birthing experiences - both with the same problem of closed cervix - one ended with a cesarian, the other with a midwife jumping on her belly!

He didn't insist any further, and even went as far as admitting that given the current conditions, the chances of a 'good' birth were relatively small. He put the chances of an induced labour finishing with a cesarian at 40%, and those of a first birth finishing with either episiotomie or tears at 60%.

Seen in that light, it's true that a cesarian seems like the best option - or at least the option with the fewest unknowns. I sure hope so.

We check in at 9 tomorrow morning, and by about midday we will be parents!

So for those of you who believe in praying, tomorrow would be a good time to spare a thought for us.
