Louvre

 

Le dimanche on a été au Louvre. C'est énorme... Les filles se sont surtout intéressées à la partie Egypte.

Sunday we visited the Louvre. Enormous... The girls were pretty good about it, and quite interested by the Egypt section.

Certaines des salles font de l'ombre aux oeuvres exposés.

Some of the rooms are actually more impressive than the works of art.

Venus de Milo. On a aussi vu la Jocande, de très loin, derrière la foule.

Venus de Milo. We saw Mona Lisa too, from a distance, behind the crowd.

Après la Louvre, on a mangé une glace, puis on a fait un saut à l'autre bout pour voir la Défense, et la vue depuis la Défense.

After the Louvre, and a little snack, we took the metro to the other end to see La Défense, and the view from La Défense.

On est revenu en arrière pour prendre le bus pour retourné à l'appartment, mais il y avait plusieurs manifestations, les bus étaient bloqués, alors on a dû reprendre le metro.

We headed back again, hoping to take the bus home, but there were multiple demonstrations, and associated gridlock, so we ended up having to take the metro again.
