Ballenberg 8

Dernier article sur Ballenberg (en tout cas pour 2014!), avec quelques photos des beaux panoramas prises sur place.

J'ai adoré cet endroit. Il y a tellement de choses à aimer. Mon boulot de rêve serait d'être un artisan sur place. Je ne sais pas trop ce que je ferais, m'enfin...

D'autres trucs à savoir: les traductions sont top. Au zoo de Basel c'était moyen, au musée du transport mieux, mais à Ballenberg tout - mais tout - était disponible dans les 4 langues nationales (enfin, anglais à la place de romansche :).

Il y avait aussi l'exposition Enfances volées, que vous devriez vraiment voir.

On a logé dans le Gäestehaus de l'Armée du Salut à Ringgenberg, qui était très abordable et avec un accueil incroyable. Mais malheureusement ils ferment à la fin de cette année...

I really loved this place. So much to like there. My dream job would be to go and be a craftsman there. Not sure which craft though...

Some other details: the translation is top-notch, everything is available in German, French, Italian, English. While we were there, there was an exhibition 'Enfances volées', which explores the grim period in Switzerland's (recent) history where children from poor, or single-parent, families got 'farmed out' to the countryside. This article from the BBC gives some details.

We stayed in the Salvation Army guest house in Ringgenberg, but unfortunately it's being shut down at the end of the year. Amazing place, really 'homely' and lovely old(ish) ladies in charge.
