Car hate ... Haine d'auto

Voilà un an et des poussières que la haine d'auto a commencé (voir la suite ici et ici).

Les 'experts' chez Ford n'ont jamais rien trouvé, sauf à me remplacer l'embrayage pour un saladier. Mais voilà la pièce fautive. J'ai trouvé tout seul, en réfléchissant avec un collègue. C'est le ressort de retour du pédale d'embrayage, sans lequel le cylindre maître perd petit à petit de son contenu, et l'embrayage débraye de moins en moins bien, usant le disque jusqu'à ce qu'on soit obligé de remplacer. Je suis peut-être cynique, mais je me demande quand même s'ils n'ont pas laissé volontairement comme ça pour que je sois obligé d'aller à nouveau dépenser 1700 balles chez eux.

Enfin, voilà 6 mois que je roule sans - il suffit de penser à soulever le pédale de temps en temps avec le pied. A l'occase je vais voir si j'arrive à le remplacer sans passer par un garage.

En attendant, avec ce temps froid, elle a de plus en plus de peine à démarrer...

The 'experts' at the Ford garage couldn't propose anything, except charging me an arm and two legs to change the clutch.

So here is a photo of the guilty part. In the end, it was while mulling the problem over with a colleague that we worked out the problem - the clutch pedal return spring. Without that, over time the master cylinder loses its contents, and the clutch disengages less and less - gradually wearing out the disk till you have to replace the whole kaboodle. I half-wonder if the garage didn't deliberately not find it - so that I'd have to go back and pay them again for another new clutch.

Anyhows, I've been driving 6 months without now - just have to remember to pull the clutch pedal up from time to time. I'll get round to changing it some time, if I can find a way of buying Ford parts...

Meanwhile, with this cold weather, the car is having increasing difficulty starting.
