Leysin pony

Pendant le mois de juin, il y a eu une sortie 'diabète', avec toute une foule d'enfants d'âges différentes.

One sunny Saturday in June, we headed up into the 'mountains' for an afternoon with other 'diabetes families'.

D'abord un tour en calèche.

Starting with a trip in a horse-drawn cart.

Suivi d'un moment à bichonner un poney.

Then some horse-polishing.

Et ensuite promenade.

Then it was time for a ride.

Pendant ce temps, les parents partagaient et se racontaient leurs expériences.

Meanwhile, us 'D-parents' were able to share notes.

Ce qui est super c'est le mélange d'âges, et aussi le fait que des frères et soeurs viennent aussi. Comme disait une maman: à la fin de la journée, on ne sait plus qui c'est qui a le diabète.

It was wonderful to have all the ages together for a while, and the fact that siblings and friends come too means that, as one mother said, by the end of the afternoon, you don't remember who has diabetes and who doesn't.
